Kozai no Mori
Itoshima’s seasonal delights in a century-old machiya townhouse
This restaurant and event space is located in a traditional townhouse built in the late 19th century by the wealthy merchant-class Nishihara family, handed down to a new generation. A popular lunch menu item is the machiya gozen (reservations required a day ahead)—a traditional array of dishes made with Itoshima ingredients, plus dessert. Add fresh sashimi for an even more splendid meal. Be sure to make a reservation to enjoy this Meiji-era setting.
