A hidden gem on Genkaijima Island—serving the fisherman dad’s catch
This restaurant is by reservation only, located on the island of Genkaijima, about 35 minutes by boat from the Hakata pier. The owner, Mr. Kota Miyagawa, who honed his skills at famous restaurants in Fukuoka and elsewhere, uses fresh seafood from the waters around the island, caught by his fisherman father, transforming them into culinary works of art. A course meal offers about seven dishes, from sashimi to grilled and deep-fried fish—all superbly fresh.
