Among the popular Shirasu Kujira restaurants, this one is rather hidden away. The owner has auction rights at the Fukuoka Fish Market, so diners can enjoy freshly caught seafood daily. Its Fukuoka specialties include goma saba (raw mackerel with sesame in sweetened sauce) and madai mentai, which combines local madai (red sea bream) with Fukuoka’s famous mentaiko (spicy cod roe) in one dish. This may well become a new regional specialty.
