The name of this long-running Hakata sushi restaurant is known throughout Japan. A skilled sushi chef transforms the seafood from the Genkai Sea with artisanal flair into flawless servings. The Hakatamae Genkai nigiri uses fresh, high-quality seafood sourced from Fukuoka prefecture atop vinegared rice—items such as sea bream and squid. The restaurant sometimes serves high-end fish such as okoze (stonefish) in the summer. The sushi rice is made with black vinegar, and the soy sauce is of exceptional quality.
