A well-known seafood izakaya with a large fish tank in the shop holding live spear squid (yari-ika) and other fresh seafood caught in the Genkai Sea. Diners can enjoy the sashimi platter or Hakata’s famous goma saba (sesame mackerel) here, part of the reason the restaurant is wildly popular with both local residents and visitors alike. Counter seats, tables, sunken kotatsu tables, and private rooms are available. There are also sister restaurants in Shimokawabata.
