This river fish restaurant has been in business for nearly 60 years. It offers yamame (trout) and unagi (eel), ayu (sweetfish) in the summer, and suppon (soft-shelled turtle) in winter. Of the river fish served year round, the koi carp is the most popular. Raised in fish farms in the prefecture, the koi are kept in a holding pool in a clear stream drawn from the mountains. The tasty meat is firm and odorless. The koi arai zen (1,870 yen) is a set featuring both carp sashimi and koikoku (carp cooked with miso). Reservations are recommended.
