Founded by the late Tomoaki Chiku, a leading figure in Shanghai cuisine, Yukyu Shanghai quickly became the centerpiece of Chinese cuisine in Fukuoka. The creative ideas of its founder are carried on to this day—using Fukuoka-sourced ingredients to develop innovative Hakata-style Chinese cuisine based on traditional Shanghai cuisine.
